Milan

12 march
Took a 7.30am plane,reach at 10.30am in milan.
Something happened!Ben left her bag at the metro station with her passport inside. We went back after 2 stations away. The hope of getting back her bag is so tiny! But luckily,a good Samaritan passed her bag to the crew. And she got her bag back.
Check-in the hostel.
Waited for cindy and esther from Paris.
We went to Sfurzo Castle but unfortunately the tower is already closed.

We had our dinner and i took t

There was a poem reciting session in Duomo Milano but there was only for those being invited.

We went to the oldest shopping mall in the world-galleria vittorio.we stepped on the genital area of a bull on the ground as there are sayings that doing this will give us luck.

Then back to hostel.
~end~

Second day 13 March
After having breakfast in the hostel,we headed to Museo Theatre La Scala but we did not enter. Then,we went to Santa Maria delle Grazie for the famous 'Last Supper' painting by Leonardo da Vinci and also the 'Cruxifixion of Christ'.It costs 15euro as we bought online (it is much expensive) and quite last minute. There are some interesting points that I just knew. The lady like apostle at the right side of Jesus (view anteriorly) is John. And Judas is holding a money bag in his hand, with a bottle of salt in front of him. Salt is a symbol of betrayal in past. Peter is holding a knife pointing away from Jesus, as he is the one to cut the ear of an army when Jesus was being taken away after the last supper. Thomas is the one at Jesus's right side, pointing his index finger. From the painting, we can see the apostles are grouped in 3, and also the figure of Jesus in a triangular shape, this signifies the Trinity.

Also,we went to Cimitero Monumentale which is the second largest cemetery in Italy. A number of famous figure such as poets are buried there. I am amazed by the tombs as they are well preserved and nicely maintained.

After having dinner,we took train to Venice.

First Ever Europe Trip - PARIS

24/12/13 till 31/12/14

We spent 7 days in Paris in our past Winter Break.

DAY 1
We left UCD hostel on 24 Dec early morning, taking the morning flight.
BUT...BUT... It was so STORMY that day, there were some announcements while we were on the flight, but none of us could really hear them clearly.
The plane landed,we disembarked the plane and realized WE ARE IN BELGIUM Charleroi Airport instead of Paris.

We were being told to get on a bus which will send us to Paris. It took us around 5 hours,so it was already 6 something in the evening when we reached Paris Beauvais Airport! We took a bus from airport to Beauvais train station, then taking train to central part of Paris. We reached our hostel - Friends Hostel at around 11 something night.

SO,our day1 is a TRAVELLING day!we used one whole day to reach Paris from Dublin. > < DAY 2 (25/12)
It was Christmas Day! So i attended Christmas Day mass in a church nearby to Eiffel Tower.
Shin and Tulip accompanied me to the church. How Good!
We went to Eiffel Tower.Luckily the queue wasn't really long.It took us half an hour to get the ticket and we spent half a day in Eiffel Tower. The view from Eiffel Tower is really SO FASCINATING!!!

We joined the hop-on hop-off bus tour which took us to round the whole Paris city. and,it was not until that moment that I had the feeling -PARIS IS INDEED A ROMANTIC CITY!the nightview is really awesome!

After having dinner in an "Arabic" restaurant(im not sure whether it is one,but we ended up eating there as the other shops nearby are closed),v went to Pont d Arts (qing2ren2qiao2) in Chinese. It is a bridge locked with uncountable padlocks all along the bridge.

Wall of Love

Place du Tetre

We headed to Saint Chapelle. It has a unique collection of 15 glass windows and a large rose window. It is a gem of French Gothic Architecture.

We went to Notre Dame after that and I attended the Sunday mass there.I would say it is the nicest church in Paris!

We visited Centre Pompidou next.It features the leading collection of modern and contemporary art in Europe.

We had pizza for dinner but sadly we don't really appreciate it.

~END~

DAY 6
We went to Opera Garnier (a palace) in the morning, hoping to join the guided tour. But only then we knew Opera is not included in our Paris Pass.

So, we decided to walk around in the popular shopping mall-GALLERY LAFAYATTE.Unfortunately,it is closed for renovation.

We visited Musee Orangerie and Musee Rodin. The most famous in Musee Orangerie include works by Monet, Picasso and also water lily paintings.

Musee Orangerie

Musee Rodin is famous of the sculptures inside.'The Thinker''Gate of Hell' are very popular among the sculptures there.

Musee Rodin

We went to Shakespeare Bookstore and Co. at night, and I bought a book as memory!

We managed to eat crepe cake that night!

DAY 7
We went to Sacre Coeur in the morning. It is a beautiful church!where we need to climb staircase to reach the church as it is situated at high area.

After that we went to Luxembourg Garden, then to Pantheon. This religious edifice was built to satisfy Louis XV's wish to glorify the monarchy with a church dedicated to St Genevieve, the patron saint of Paris.

Pantheon

We went to Conciergerie in the afternoon. It was a palace,a law courts and a prison before.

We had the famous Berthillon Ice Cream!!!

and had our dinner at Latin Quarter!(there are many restaurants with economic-price-food there)

DAY 8
We left early in the morning and took a plane to Barcelona.

***There is a number of funny points to mention.
Only us 3 girls travelling together in this trip, somehow we felt a bit worried. Thus we came out with an idea, instead of telling our true nationality,we told people we are from Canada.Maybe in some way others will at least respect us a little bit more.

Also also,I this careless bum lost my Metro ticket on the second and it is quite expensive to buy a 5-day pass.So I just 'sticked' with Tulip as we passed the machine everytime we were in the metro station.
"WE ARE LIKE REFUGEE!!" ahahaa~~
